Tredd was born from a concern that many therapists advise that they work with eating disorders but actually don’t specialise or have the adequate training. Knowing that early intervention is the key to eating disorder recovery, it’s vital that sufferers and carers get the most appropriate treatment and care from the beginning.
Tredd founder Vickie Hugh-Jones has been working with people struggling with eating disorders for nearly two decades, having initially trained with the National Centre for Eating Disorders. A psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer with experience in clinical nutrition, CBT, CBT-ED, MANTRA, Multi Family Therapy, clinical hypnotherapy and breathwork, Vickie identified that sufferers were often coming to her after having faltered with their first ‘generalist’ practitioner. While a general therapist will have studied the basics of supporting people with an eating disorder, it was vital to connect those struggling with more specialist and appropriate care from the outset. Tredd is the answer to this clear need.
Each practitioner found in our directory has been personally vetted by Vickie to ensure they are fully trained and experienced in this field of care.
